Our Staff
Learn & Play Children’s Centre is well prepared to care for your children.
Ruby Miller, Administrator

After 23 years of doing everything from teaching, to cleaning toilets and shoveling snow, Mrs. MIller knows all of the ‘ins’ and ‘outs’ of Learn and Play. The children see her popping in and out of their rooms, and all say ‘Hi’, but, no-one wants to ‘see her’ in her office!
Miss Linda – Early Childhood Educator
Miss Linda graduated from Douglas College twenty eight years ago. She has a current first aid certificate, level one national coaching certificate, and has attended many workshops, and seminars related to the field. She is thrilled to be a part of the Learn and Play team and enjoys the many resources that the children are fortunate enough to have and enjoy at Learn & Play.
Miss Mojgan – Early Childhood Educator
Miss Mojgan is married and has a six year old son and loves working with children. She started with us as a student and has become a full time employee. She enjoys putting her efforts and experience into her program. She looks forward to her future at Learn and Play.
Miss Samantha – Early Childhood Educator
Miss Samantha is the ‘mother figure’ to all of our younger children. This is the woman who teaches them sharing, and the art of waiting for their turn. She’s such a child herself the children all relate to her. Beware though, everything in her room is a joke, too.
Miss Patsy – E.C.E. Assistant
Miss Patsy is the assistant to our preschool program this year. She has a current Childsafe Certificate, has attended the Challenging Behaviour Course, and completed the Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder workshop. Miss. Patsy has also taken Sign Language for Beginners. She is the mother of three children, and the proud Grandmother to six year old, James.
Miss Stephanie – Early Childhood Educator
Miss Stephanie has been at Learn & Play for seven years and is in charge of our Kindergarten program. She loves the teaching part of childcare and is always up for more learning time.
Miss Lisa – Resource Coordinator
Miss Lisa is married with two sons, and she enjoys reading and crafts. This woman also likes an organized ship. Everything has it’s place and don’t you go m%(staff_title)Miss Samantha – Early Childhood Educator%
essing with it, or she will find you, and she will make you fix it, and she will watch you to make sure it is done right. She likes it like that and so do we.
h1. Students
We accommodate practicum students from local colleges who are currently in the Early Childhood Education courses. We feel that it is beneficial for both the staff and the students. The staff keeps current on any changes and the students get hands on experience. We also have a variety of high school students who help out with the day to day support of the programs.
Pat Miller
A.K.A “Mr. Mrs. Miller” or “Mr. Fix It”
When something is broken, loose, or needs renovation, this is the guy. He plumbs, cleans gutters. He also knows how to use a snow blower and is not afraid to use it. He can be found around the Centre with his list of things to do, it is surprising he ever gets to leave.
